Crowds have flocked to M&T Bank Stadium this summer for Morgan Wallen and BTS concerts. Expect it to keep happening.

The Ravens announced Monday that Chris Brown and Usher will perform at the venue on Saturday, Oct. 17. That means M&T Bank Stadium will host at least 17 full-capacity events this year — the most in its nearly 30-year history.

Baltimore will host nine Ravens games in 2026, including two preseason exhibitions. D.C. United and Inter Miami played a Major League Soccer game there in the spring, and Wallen, a country singer, and BTS, a K-pop group, performed two shows each this summer. In September, M&T Bank Stadium will host international rugby and soccer matches, too.

That will make for a particularly busy September. Generally, the Orioles and Ravens avoid double-booking the Camden Yards complex to prevent traffic gridlock, but both teams play in Baltimore on Sept. 20. The Ravens’ home opener begins at 1 p.m. that day, with the Orioles set to play at 7:20 p.m.

M&T Bank Stadium has long hosted special events. In 1998, shortly after opening, it saw its first college football game (Morgan State vs. Delaware State), and musical artists including Metallica, Jay-Z and Beyoncé have performed at the stadium. But rarely does it have more than a couple of large-scale non-Ravens events in one year.

In an effort to generate more activity around Oriole Park and M&T Bank Stadium, the state has incentivized the sports teams to host more special events. The Maryland Stadium Authority, which owns the stadiums, receives amusement tax for events held at the venues.

The state just finished a three-year, $489 million renovation of M&T Bank Stadium, the arena’s most significant upgrade. The Ravens contributed some money, but the vast majority came from state funds made available by a 2022 law.

On Friday, during a tour of upgrades, Ravens president Sashi Brown noted the “massive amount of investment in downtown Baltimore,” pointing to plans to redevelop the Inner Harbor and improve Oriole Park, as well as the completed renovation of CFG Bank Arena.

“We really want to do our part to bring downtown back to life,” Brown said. “Part of that was making sure this building is activated more than 10, 12 times a year.”
