A 52-year-old woman has died in a collision between her vehicle and a garbage truck in Timonium, police said.

Shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday, a 2011 Honda Pilot driven by Reina Santosochoa struck a garbage truck at the intersection of York Road and Lincoln Street, Baltimore County Police said in a news release.

She was transported to a hospital, where she died, officials said.

Trash collection in the area typically happens on Tuesdays, with recycling pickup on Fridays, according to the county government’s website. Representatives from the county’s public works department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

State data shows there have been at least 46 fatal collisions in Baltimore County this year, second only to Prince George’s County, where at least 59 people have died in crashes.
