Baltimore County Police identified two victims of a fatal shooting in Essex, one of two fatal incidents discovered in the community Monday.

Donielle Mack and Izick Aminartey, both 19, were found with gunshot wounds in a car near Banyan Wood Court on Monday morning, officials said Tuesday. Aminartey was pronounced dead at the scene, and Mack was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Baltimore County Police are also investigating another shooting that left a man dead in Essex on Monday, officials said.

Shortly before noon on Monday, officers responded to an assault near Bladen Road and found a man in a vehicle who had been shot, authorities said. The man, who has not yet been identified, was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

Nearly an hour later, Mack and Aminartey were found fatally shot about a mile away, police said on social media.

“Once officers were on scene, they located two individuals inside of the car that had sustained gunshot wounds. Both individuals have since been pronounced deceased,” Detective Trae Corbin told reporters.

Joy Lepola-Stewart, a spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police Department, said detectives do not believe the two cases are connected.

There have been 16 homicides in Baltimore County so far this year, according to police data, compared to 19 around this time in 2025.
