Ravens-Orioles doubleheader forecast: Temps in upper 80s, thunderstorms possible at night

Ravens fans, you are in the clear when it comes to rain Sunday. But Orioles fans might not have the same luck.

Although the Ravens-Orioles doubleheader is expected to start dry, rain and thunderstorms could dampen the fun at Camden Yards in the evening, said Luis Rosa, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Clouds will hover over M&T Bank Stadium as the Ravens kick off against the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m., Rosa said.

But don’t let the lack of sun fool you. Temperatures could hit the upper 80s on Sunday for the nearly 100,000 sports fans expected to converge on downtown Baltimore.

The risk of rain will increase closer to sunset, he said, around the time the Orioles start their game against the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:20 p.m. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms, but Rosa said they are not expected to be severe.

Lightning could delay the game, so prepare for a potentially long evening if you’re going to watch one of the Orioles’ final games of the season.

Showers are expected to stick around all evening and throughout the week, Rosa said. There will also be a “drastic cooldown” next week, with the temperature dipping into the 50s at times, as we head into autumn, he added.
