Hot and humid ahead of cooler Labor Day weekend

Multiple thunderstorm clusters are moving from Pennsylvania into the region on Thursday. It will be hot and humid through Friday, with heat indexes between 100 and 105 degrees, said Luis Rosa, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Dry air is expected to settle over the mid-Atlantic region over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are likely to drop on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the 50s and 60s in the Baltimore and capital regions. Labor Day is expected to be milder and relatively dry.

If you are trying to squeeze in one last beach vacation in Ocean City, there’s a chance of strong to severe storms with damaging winds through Friday evening. Conditions could improve starting Saturday, with temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s through Labor Day.
