The weekend ahead is expected to be a hot and sticky one in Charm City.

While temperatures will be in the 90s, Andrew Snyder, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said it should feel more like 100 degrees with the humidity Saturday. It will be just under the criteria for extreme heat alerts.

As was the case earlier this week, Marylanders can expect strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, Snyder said. The storms could begin as early as 1 p.m. and continue through 6 p.m.

Sunday should feel less muggy, though the heat index will likely remain in the 90s, according to the weather service. Chances of thunderstorms will be lower Sunday as well. The rest of the week should bring typical summer temperatures and possible thunderstorms in the afternoons.
